Last Sunday I took the plunge, and with my friend Pam of Glamoursurf, I sold a few things at the Alameda Antique Market. So much work, and a lot of fun. My only regret was that I didn't take the time to go around a look at anyone else's booth. Next time, for sure. There was so much to see! It's definitely an interior designer's paradise.
We forgot the top canvas to the tent, so we had to improvise with blankets to give ourselves some shade, and it also added a bit of bohemian marketplace flair to our booth.
Pam brought quite a collection of vintage luggage, and it sold like flapjacks!
There were quite a few patrons dressed in head to toe vintage!
And who should wander into our booth shopping, but major cutie-pie Christina of Senorita Hollywood.
Here's the three of us. Pam, Christina, and me.
Pam's sock monkeys were quite the attraction.
We also loved Pam's vintage makeup case that she covered with vintage labels.
Alameda is an interesting place. It's part nature preserve, part international shipping port. Wild geese graze next to giant container loaders.
A view of the show, with San Francisco skyline in the distance.
you're very brave and just went for it!i've been thinking about selling my jewellery at fairs as well, but havent gathered enough courage to do it :S well done you!
